Steve Andrews has been a successful software engineer for over sixteen years.
He is a four-time Microsoft MVP Award recipient and holder of multiple Microsoft and IBM certifications. He has designed high-level custom software solutions for a wide range of international and U.S. companies and, as a technology expert and has spoken at over 130 Microsoft events.
In 2012 Steve was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and after doing extensive research, founded Platinum Bay Technologies, where he provides job opportunities to software experts who are on the Autism spectrum. As Founder and Executive Director of Platinum Bay, Steve regularly engages with the Autism community and works to build bridges to help Autistic individuals find their own personal success, and change the stigma from disability and limitations to one of gifts and talents and potential that, like musical talent, simply require a little nurturing to be highly successful.
During this interview, Steve sheds light on some surprising statistics, and dispels several myths about Autism. He shares his personal experience in dealing with Aspergers, which is on the Autism spectrum, and how he used this discovery to develop an innovative business model on which he has built Platinum Bay Technologies, a California-based ‘for purpose’ corporation.
