What does it take to be in enlightened and empowered leader?
Danna Beal, M.Ed., author of “The Extraordinary Workplace: Replacing Fear with Trust and Compassion” is an international speaker on Enlightened Leadership and Leading a Culture of Trust and Compassion.
She is a returning guest on the Leaders Of Transformation (Episode #47). In today’s interview, we explore Emotional Intelligence and how to raise your EQ and be a truly enlightened and empowering leader.
Danna explains for us what is Emotional Intelligence, qualities and skills that emotionally intelligent people possess, how to develop them, and how it takes courage to set aside the ego and self-reflect and self-regulate your thoughts and behaviors.
We also discuss perfectionism, how to overcome it, and truly honor the spirit within you that is underneath the self-created identity. Finally, Danna leads us through an exercise on overcoming the fears that hold us back.
Danna has been on 80 radio shows and has spoken for 300 businesses/conventions. Her audiences have included hospitals, physician practices, CPA and law firms, banks, insurance agencies, throughout the country, and international audiences from a multitude of industries.
Addressing the unrecognized costs to businesses when the work environment is filled with emotional drama and power struggles, she introduces a new model for “enlightened leadership”. Her work rebuilds relationships and increases team building, loyalty, synergism and success. “When every person can contribute in a cooperative environment, businesses succeed at a level unattainable in a competitive, fear based atmosphere.” Her specialty in healthcare was a result of working with medical practices, hospitals, imaging centers, surgery centers and conferences for healthcare executives.
In addition to her coaching, speaking and writing career, Danna Beal has been the marketing director for numerous organizations including Radia, the largest radiology practice in the Washington and regional CPA firms. .She holds a B.A. from Washington State University and a M.Ed. from Whitworth University. She has boy girl twin 2 year old grandchildren.
