How do you master your emotions and enjoy greater happiness and success in your life?
Masha Malka is living proof of what can happen if human potential is allowed to express itself. Leaving the only life and country she had known, Masha Malka’s life was turned upside down at the age of 17, when her family fled the Soviet Union as Jewish refugees.
With determination like nothing she had known before, Masha committed to doing whatever it took to turn her life around. With no money, no knowledge of the English language, no contacts or friends to turn to for help and a very different mindset, Masha studied full time while working two or three jobs in order to get ahead and achieve her dreams.
Fast-Forward – Today Masha is a Holistic Success Coach, best-selling author, and founder of The One Minute Coach™️ educational system. She is specialized in success mindset, practical change management, and emotional mastery. With over 20 years of experience as an executive coach and Organizational Change Management Specialist (OCM), Dr. Malka has inspired and facilitated personal and organizational transformations for hundreds of people.
In addition, she has taught Business Leadership, won ballroom competitions, holds a Doctor of Advanced Studies (DAS) degree in Entrepreneurship and Master’s Degree in Higher Education. Dr. Malka’s coaching and training programs are a unique blend of conscious and subconscious strategies that have proven to create impactful and lasting change for her clients worldwide.
In today’s conversation with us, Dr. Malka addresses the timely topic of emotional mastery and how she used a difficult situation in her life as a training ground to learn the skills she now teaches to people around the world.
We discuss many of the practical tips and concepts that Masha has included in her book, The One Minute Coach to Mastering Your Emotions: A Step-by-Step Guide to Feeling Happy on a Regular Basis, including where emotions come from, the impact of our emotions physically and relationally, and how we gain control of our emotions…one minute at a time.
Key Takeaways
- Over 90% of what we do, what we think, and how we react is habitual.
- Separate yourself from the emotion. Instead of saying “I am angry”, say “I feel angry”.
- You have every right to feel every emotion. Emotion that isn’t dealt with becomes stuck and wants to get out. The way it gets out if not addressed, is sickness and disease.
- Learn to release the emotional charge at the end of every day. Neutralize both the positive and negative emotions before going to bed so you sleep well.
- When you master your emotions you master your life.
- Once you break the pattern of reacting emotionally, it doesn’t have control of you anymore.
- The toughest experience, when you get through it, you look back and say that was the best thing that happened to me.
- We are never given an obstacle that we cannot overcome. The key is not to try to do it alone. Get support.
- You expand your range of emotions by removing the fear of feeling the emotions.
- Whatever emotion is coming to you, it’s indicating something that you need to pay attention to.
