What Makes the 22 Talk Shifts Leadership Book Different

Krister started reading business books when he was 12 and tried using that knowledge not only in business but in his personal relationships. He went on to become a successful businessman but struggled in his personal life with a broken marriage, and strained relationships with his father and brother who were his business partners.

He was one of those people who would read 20 business books before he picked up a parenting or relationship book. Hence, he had the idea of writing a book that not only speaks about being a better leader but also gives tools and techniques to become a better parent and spouse. The day he realized that he was a leader with no followers was when he found his WHY of using business as a tool to transform 10 million marriages, leaders and lives.

Leadership Tools That Apply At Home and In Business

Krister wanted to write a book that resonated with people at large. Even a stay at home mom with no intention of starting a business will find value in it. The book also covers how a relationship between a boss and an employee starts to resemble that of a marriage. The pain of leaving a company where one has worked for years starts to resemble the pain of leaving a marriage or long term relationships.

The dynamics of power, fear, and hiding in relationships are the same. So his vision was to shed some light on the fact that there are similar patterns in what happens within the senior executive ranks of companies and in their bedrooms. His book is written in such a way that it connects with the CEO of a big company as well as a 75 year old retired woman with no corporate background.

Creating a Video Book To Convey Difficult Topics Better

Krister used his 22 talk shifts to mend his relationship with his father and former spouse. He read the book to his dad because he knew he would have trouble reading it. That’s when he thought of creating a video book. He realized that video was the only way through which intense emotions could be conveyed. It also can relate a wider audience – from children, to employees, spouses, siblings and business partners. Krister wanted his book to have a deeper impact on families while sharing tools for career and financial success. As Krister says, a good video book burns big ideas into your brain. A great video book burns them into your soul.

The Most Meaningful Talk Shift For Krister

Krister aimed to write a book that was good to its last drop and for him the 22nd talk shift is the most meaningful for him because it speaks about saying sorry and repairing broken relationships. However, when he asks people which talk shift impacted them the most, he rarely gets the same answer. The beauty of his book is that couples as well as leaders and team members can decide to partner up and work on it together. He shares that in many cases it just takes one talk shift to transform a relationship.

The book is filled with simple nuggets broken down into small doable things. It also explains the psychology and neuroscience behind why it works. The well-researched best practices shared in Krister’s book are as simple as learning a new language. All in all, the 22 TALK SHIFTs: Tools To Transform Leadership book helps people to communicate with people more honestly and fix the subtle language patterns that eventually lead to broken relationships.
